Frequently asked questions

Ready for the throwing line?

What do I need to play Dart Quests?

A standard physical dartboard, a set of darts, and one phone or tablet. Dart Quests does not require a smart dartboard, sensors, an account, or separate player devices.

Can I play Dart Quests solo?

Yes. Campaign is a full solo darts game as well as a cooperative local adventure. Medal tiers give solo players a clear performance goal.

How does local multiplayer work?

Players share one device beside the board and take turns. Competitive supports friendly hot-seat rivalry, while Campaign can be played cooperatively.

Is Dart Quests free?

Yes. Dart Quests is free to play during its Open Alpha. The game is still evolving, so rules, balance, and presentation may continue to improve.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Open the game once, install it as a progressive web app, and it remains usable offline. Progress is saved locally in your browser.

Which devices are supported?

Dart Quests is designed tablet-first and also supports modern phones. The shared game screen works best in landscape; this marketing page works in either orientation.

What is the Pure Darts Campaign?

It keeps the Moonhollow adventure, targets, survival goals, and boss gates while removing classes, cards, gear, and loot for a simpler test of pure dart skill.

Is this online multiplayer?

No. Dart Quests is intentionally a local multiplayer darts game for people standing at the same physical dartboard.

Made around a real dartboard

Built during lunch breaks. Grown into an adventure.

Dart Quests began in early 2024 with a group of coworkers playing darts during lunch. With roughly six people and limited time, traditional one-on-one darts left too many players waiting. So we built a faster local multiplayer darts game that kept the whole group involved around one board.

We built Dart Quests for our own dartboard first. Now we are turning it into a polished game the wider darts community can enjoy.

How Dart Quests evolved

That first version became our daily game, but it exposed another familiar problem: in a regular group, the most skilled throwers soon become predictable winners. We did not want to replace skill with arbitrary luck. Instead, we introduced another kind of skill: Strategy. Cards, gear, classes, and roguelike choices create more routes to victory while accurate darts still matter most.

As the game grew, we asked why darts always had to be versus. That question became Campaign: a solo or cooperative darts adventure through Moonhollow, with handcrafted encounters, changing runs, and boss fights that can leave an entire party watching the final dart in suspense.

  1. 01

    Keep the group throwing

A quick shared-device format made local darts work for a larger group without long one-on-one waits.

  2. 02

    Add strategy, not random winners

Deck-building and party-game ideas widened each player's options while preserving the advantage of a better throw.

  3. 03

    Turn rivalry into an expedition

Campaign transformed the concept into a cooperative fantasy journey that can also be played solo.

  4. 04

    Playtest, learn, improve

The Open Alpha is already fully playable, but every real match helps us refine its balance, clarity, and content.

Two friends and I play darts at our local café every week. We were bored with the standard games, and Dart Quests has kept us hooked.

Support the art

Help us commission more handmade art

Dart Quests has taken hundreds of hours of design, development, and playtesting and art is a big part of what makes the adventure feel alive.

Some artwork in the Open Alpha is handmade. We also use AI-assisted concept and placeholder art so a small project can prototype quickly, test new ideas, and avoid spending a limited art budget on features that may still change or be removed.

Our ambition is for the full release of Dart Quests to feature 100% artwork made by human artists. If you enjoy the game for free and share that goal, an optional donation of any size can help us commission more original art. Playing, testing, and sharing Dart Quests already helps too.
